So at my college, they are trying to pass this bill to BAN SMOKING FROM CAMPUS!!!! The campus is pretty much half and half on the issue and so am I. I am for the ban because I HATE SMOKERS!!!!
i haven't gone a day without walking on campus without walking through those nicotine poisoned death clouds. of course they always have to be in front of me and the wind blowing in my face. I'm sorry but i'm not going to powerwalk to class to avoid your congested, arsenic cloud o' death
the campus had smoking areas designated to 50ft from the entrance of their buildings but for some reason that rule just went up in smoke (pun intended :P).
I also understand why people would not want the ban to go through also. Cigarettes are legal in all 50 states i believe so banning it would be illogical. It would be like banning chewing gum: it is legal but people don't like stepping or sitting on it unexpectedly. Also there are people from teenagers to senior citizens who have been smoking for years and i feel that if they do ban it they are going to lose a lot of students.
So as you can see, I am on the fence about it too cause there really is no win-win situation.
